The community is situated on Coconut Road in the eastern side of US Route 41.

Shadow Wood has long recreational trails that offer a more adventurous experience for walkers, joggers, runners, and bicyclists. Golf courses and lakes provide a superb view as well, and the brilliantly preserved wetlands provide tracks with a uniqueness of its own. These recreational trails are made to give community residences access at various difficulty levels and distances and are exclusive only for Shadow Wood homeowners. Nevertheless, these trails can be used by those living in The Brooks on Three Oaks Parkway and Coconut Road.

Shadow Wood Country Club is exclusive to community residents, designed specifically for golf players living in Shadow Wood. There is also a community clubhouse with tons of amenities, as well as 3 golf courses. Members of the club can take advantage of the unlimited dining and social privileges offered by the clubhouse. Additionally, residents can join Sports Membership that will give them unlimited access to the Har-Tru tennis courts and clubhouse and restricted utilization of golf facilities.

Holiday gatherings include Valentine’s Sweetheart Dance, Oktoberfest and Holly Ball. Then there is the Member Mixers held twice a week that feature a dinner buffet, live entertainment and happy hour specials.

Attached coach residences, on the other hand, are perfect for those who want a low-maintenance living as well. Residents will appreciate the large commercial retail shopping center just outside the entrance where they will find Ruth Chris Steak House, Apple Store, Target, Dilliards, Barnes & Noble, Brookstone, Regal Cinema, Starbucks with several other retail and dining choices.
