Life at Hilton Head Plantation

Hilton Head Plantation is among the biggest (4,000 acres) and most gorgeous communities on Hilton Head Island, and while it is famous for its coastal homes that are low maintenance, retirees who have active lifestyles also know the community for its magnificent surroundings, recreational facilities and strong community ties.

Nestled on Hilton Head Island’s northern tip amidst huge palm, southern pine and oak trees, Hilton Head Plantation has a view over the white sandy beaches and shimmering blue waters of Skull Creek and Port Royal Sound.

A lot of active adults not only find Hilton Head Plantation to possess a relaxed living atmosphere, but they also find that dining, shopping and resort-style amenities are just a short drive or walk away should they suddenly crave for a local seafood dish or find the need to purchase new clothes.

Hilton Head Plantation offers various amenities that outdoor enthusiasts will find appealing, including 6 miles of biking and walking trails, 2+ miles of beaches on Port Royal Sound, 2 nature conservancies, fishing lagoons, a full-size marina, and gardening areas. For those who prefer to spend time discovering new interests and/or playing games, Hilton Head Plantation also has numerous indoor facilities to offer, which include Spring Lake Pavilion, The Dolphin Head Recreational Building and Plantation House.

Homeowners who like to get a daily dose of healthy exercise can visit one of the various modern fitness facilities situated within the community. There, they will be able to use treadmills, recumbent bikes, elliptical trainers, free weights, and resistance training equipment. On the other hand, those who are not fond of the gym setting, but love to attend group workout classes, such as step aerobics, Yoga, Pilates, and Zumba can participate in one of the various clubs that make use of the community’s multipurpose rooms.

Golf enthusiasts will have 4 courses to choose from – the Country Club of Hilton Head (a Rees Jones design), Dolphin Head, Bear Creek, and the Oyster Reef Golf Club.

Whether homeowners prefer to take a barefooted walk on the beach or join a recreational activity arranged by the recreations and activities director and staff, they always greet one another with a warm hello and a friendly smile, regardless of what they are doing.

With over 20 top golf courses, 4 of which are situated inside the community, golf has continually been customary at Hilton Head Plantation. For those who are not familiar with the game of golf, the community hosts various special events and festivals, including the Celebrate Hardeeville Catfish Cook-Off, the Bluffton Seafood and Arts Festival, held annually, and the PGA Verizon Heritage Golf Classic.

Hilton Head Plantation Homes and Real Estate
